  • My EMDR Basic Training workshops are accredited by the EMDR Association of Australia, so eligibility is guided by EMDRAA’s training eligibility criteria - which can be found at THIS LINK.

EMDR training is open to suitably qualified mental health professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, mental health nurses, occupational therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, creative arts therapists and other allied health professionals who meet EMDRAA’s requirements.

You will usually need to hold current registration or membership with your relevant professional body and have appropriate mental health training and clinical experience.

Please check the EMDRAA eligibility criteria before enrolling. If you are unsure whether you meet the criteria, please contact EMDRAA directly before booking your place. I’m not able to override EMDRAA’s eligibility requirements.

  • No, I’m not able to enrol participants who do not meet EMDRAA’s eligibility criteria for EMDR Basic Training.

Because my EMDR Basic Training is EMDRAA-accredited, participants need to meet EMDRAA’s requirements. If you are unsure about your eligibility, please contact EMDRAA directly before enrolling.

EMDRAA does have an exceptional circumstances pathway, but this is managed by EMDRAA rather than by me. It is still an EMDRAA process, not something I can approve independently.

You can find further information on the exceptional circumstances pathway on EMDRAA’s website.

  • If a workshop is listed as sold out, unfortunately all places have been filled, and I am unable to take any further bookings.

You are very welcome to join the waitlist for that workshop. If a place becomes available, I’ll offer it to people on the waitlist. Places can sometimes open up, but it’s not guaranteed.

To avoid missing out, I recommend booking into another available workshop date, and remain on the waitlist.
If a spot does become available in an earlier workshop, you will be given the opportunity to transfer your booking.

To be added to a waitlist, please send me an email.

  • I usually recommend allowing enough time between Part 1 and Part 2 to begin gently applying what you’ve learned, rather than leaving it so long that the skills start to feel distant.

As a general guide, around three to six months between Part 1 and Part 2 works well for many therapists. This gives you time to practise foundational skills, notice the questions that come up in real clinical work, and arrive at Part 2 with a clearer sense of what you want to consolidate.

After completing Part 1, participants may begin practising EMDR within their scope of practice, but you are not considered fully trained in EMDR until you have completed all components of EMDR Basic Training, including Part 1, Part 2 and 10 hours of consultation.

  • You can begin using EMDR after completing Part 1, provided you are working within your professional scope of practice, clinical competence and workplace requirements.

I encourage therapists to start thoughtfully and gradually. Begin with suitable clients, use consultation, and avoid waiting so long that the training starts to feel like a distant memory.

You do not need to feel perfectly confident before you begin. Confidence tends to build through supported practice.

  • My EMDR Basic Training workshops are delivered in the format advertised on the booking page.

If a workshop is listed as in-person, it is not possible to attend that workshop via Zoom. EMDR Basic Training includes supervised practice, live skills development and group-based learning, so the format is planned carefully to meet training requirements and support participant learning.

If online training options are available, they will be clearly listed at the time of booking.

  • We are currently finalising the 2027 calendar for Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. We expect to release the full schedule in October 2026.

The best way to hear about new workshop dates is to join my VIP list, as subscribers are usually the first to know when new dates are released.

  • I do consider requests for different cities, including Adelaide, Perth and Hobart, but I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to offer training in every location each year.

  • Please contact my admin team before registering if you need specific billing arrangements.

Where possible, I can provide an invoice or quote for professional development funding purposes. Split invoices may be possible in some circumstances, but they need to be arranged before payment is made.

Please include the following details in your email:

    Your full name
    Workshop type, location and date
Fee type (standalone workshop or package)
    Billing name or organisation
Any purchase order or reference number required
The amount to be invoiced to each party, if requesting a split invoice

This helps avoid delays. Please note, your booking is not secure until payment has been received.

  • Yes, I may be able to provide in-house or private EMDR training for organisations, depending on location, timing, group size and training requirements.

If your organisation is interested in private training, please email my admin team with details about your organisation, preferred dates, location, approximate number of participants and the type of training you are seeking.

Please note that all EMDR Basic Training participants still need to meet EMDRAA eligibility criteria.

  • All correspondence and important information regarding your upcoming EMDR Part 1 or Part 2 Workshop booking will be sent via email.

    • Pre-workshop reading materials will be received 2 weeks before the workshop.

    • Venue information, including parking, public transport options, catering provided, and what to bring will be received 1 week before the workshop.

Please check your inbox, junk and spam folders, especially if the workshop is approaching and you haven’t seen anything come through.

I recommend setting aside a few hours to read through the material and become familiar with the key concepts. You don’t need to memorise everything before attending. The aim is to arrive with some familiarity, not to become an EMDR expert before the first morning.

Below is the approximate amount of time I advise the pre-workshop materials will require:

    • EMDR Part 1 : 3 hours

    • EMDR Part 2: 2 hours

  • Dietary requirements are collected during registration. I do my best to accommodate common dietary needs and allergies such as gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

Any dietary requirements that you have listed upon registration are directly passed on to the venue along with your name. If your dietary requirements are quite specific or you have a severe allergy that requires medical attention, please ensure you bring any necessary medication with you as a precaution.

If you are unsure whether you listed your dietary requirements at the time of registering, your circumstances have changed or you have concerns about the catering, please send us an email.

  • I aim to make my workshops as inclusive, respectful and neurodiversity-affirming as possible.

If you have sensory, accessibility, learning or other support needs, please let me know when you register, or email my admin team before the workshop. Where possible, I can consider seating preferences, movement breaks, fidget tools, quieter spaces during breaks, written information, accessibility requirements, or other practical adjustments.

You do not need to over-explain or justify your needs. The more notice I have, the easier it is to plan well with the venue and make the workshop feel more manageable for you.

If it has been more than 2 business days since completing the workshop, and you still can’t find what you need, please email my admin team with your full name, the workshop date and location, and whether you are looking for the post workshop materials, requesting a digital copy of your certificate, or both.

This helps us locate your details and process the request more quickly.

  • Yes, training logs can be signed once the relevant training or consultation component has been completed and verified.

  • The 10 hours of consultation are a required part of EMDRAA-accredited EMDR Basic Training. These hours must be completed with an EMDRAA Accredited Consultant and can usually be completed through individual consultation, group consultation, or a combination of both.

You can book consultation with me, or with another EMDRAA Accredited Consultant. My available consultation options are listed on my website.

Once you have completed Part 1, Part 2 and the 10 hours of consultation, your EMDR Basic Training log can be completed for EMDRAA Full Membership purposes.

  • Item description
  • EMDRAA Full Membership
The Full Membership usually follows completion of EMDR Basic Training, which includes EMDR Part 1, Part 2 and 10 hours of consultation with an EMDRAA Accredited Consultant.

The all-inclusive training package contains each component required to be eligible to apply for the Full Membership with EMDRAA.

    Accredited Practitioner

Accredited Practitioner is for EMDR therapists who have completed EMDR Basic Training, gained further clinical experience, completed additional consultation, and demonstrated competency in EMDR therapy.

    Accredited Consultant

The Accredited Consultant pathway is a further step for experienced EMDR practitioners who provide consultation to other EMDR therapists and meet EMDRAA’s consultant requirements.

If you’re not sure where you fit, consultation can be a helpful place to map out your next step.

  • Yes, training logs can be signed once the relevant training or consultation component has been completed and verified.
