EMDR Practice Lab
A hands-on, supportive space to practise EMDR after your training
Are you an EMDR-trained therapist looking for more hands-on experience in a safe, structured space?
The EMDR Practice Lab is a 2-hour online session designed to help you build confidence and refine your skills after training. With live guidance from Accredited EMDR Consultants, Madeleine and Kate, you’ll have the chance to practise the standard protocol in real time — with the kind of support many EMDR therapists say they wish they had post-training.
You can attend just once, or as many sessions are you need to support your ongoing EMDR learning.
Why the EMDR Practice Lab?
After EMDR training, it can be hard to know how to get started — especially if your caseload is highly complex or your work setting doesn’t support the use of EMDR therapy.
We often hear therapists say, “I wish I could practise more before starting to use EMDR with clients.”
The EMDR Practice Lab was developed in response to that need. It bridges the gap between EMDR training and real-world application — a space to consolidate your skills, build confidence, and embed EMDR therapy into your practice in a way that feels supported and manageable.
Many therapists say the practicum component of training is where things really start to click. The EMDR Practice Lab builds on that experience, offering a similar kind of experiential learning — but with the added safety and structure of post-training support.
Who is it for?
The EMDR Practice Lab is open to therapists who’ve completed Part 1 training (or beyond) and would like more opportunities to apply their EMDR learning in a supportive, practical space. It may be particularly helpful if you:
Feel hesitant or low in confidence when it comes to moving into the EMDR reprocessing phases
Work in a setting where opportunities to use EMDR are limited, or where EMDR isn’t well supported
Are returning to EMDR therapy after a break and would value a structured refresher
Whether you’re newly trained or more experienced, the Practice Lab offers a space to keep learning — without pressure to get it perfect.
What to expect:
The EMDR Practice Lab is all about guided, hands-on experience — because we know how valuable it is to learn by doing.
Each 2-hour online session includes:
A brief refresher of the procedural steps in Phases 3–7
Two 45-minute practice rounds in pairs (therapist/client roles), working with your own personal targets in Zoom breakout rooms
Live guidance and supportive feedback from Accredited EMDR Consultants Kate Formston and Madeleine Jablonski
A group debrief to consolidate learning and ask questions
A flexible space to keep practising
The EMDR Practice Lab is designed to be low-pressure and repeatable — attend once, or return later if you’d like to keep practising.
Each session offers a practical, interactive format where you can build confidence through experience, peer connection, and real-time support.
You’ll leave feeling more equipped to use EMDR therapy in your everyday clinical work.
